Based around the compact reliable and highly efficient Vahterus Plate & Shell Heat exchanger (PSHE) the C4S-CHRM has been designed to recover the excess heat in a pressurised condensate return line. Transferring the recovered energy into the boiler feedwater on its journey from the feedtank to the boiler.
The integrated PLC control system monitors and logs all the relevant operational data which is displayed on the touchscreen complete with remote transmission and communication. Feedwater flow and temperatures are continually monitored in order to quantify the amount of energy recovered and calculate the monetary savings.
Installation
Relatively simple to install with only four flanged connections. The condensate returns are diverted through the ‘Hot’ Primary side connections with the boiler feedwater pumped through the ‘Cold’ secondary side connections.
Setting the back-pressure valve and powering up the control panel is all that is then required.
Automated by-pass valves on the condensate return lines ensure that only high temperature condensate flows through the CHRM unit. In addition the boiler feedtank temperature is monitored and high temperature condensate is supplied direct to the tank in order to maintain a constant feedwater temperature.
Maintaining a constant temperature ensures that the feedwater oxygen content is stable and adequately treated minimising chemical usage and reducing the amount of TDS blowdown. Saving energy and reducing treatment costs.
